LEELA the Horse needs a home
Leela came to Longmeadow as part of a large rescue. She has since been rehabilitated and is ready for adoption to an approved home. Leela''s new home will need to have previous horse or mule experience. We believe that Leela has had some previous training. She was calm and accepting of the tack. We aren''t sure how far she came in her previous training and therefore we are recommending that she be restarted by a professional trainer.
Update April 2017: Leela is progressing quickly in the training program. She did have previous training for riding. She would prefer to move slowly and would make a great trail riding mule. She is confident in the arena and will be ridden out on the trails soon.
Leela is a large and friendly mule. She is causious around strangers, probably due to neglect in her previous life, but with proper groundwork time a new owner will easily win her trust.
